The City of Blythe, in its capacity as Lead Agency for this project under CEQA, has prepared an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed Edelweiss Sustainable Farms Project ("Project").
Project Description: The Project site encompasses an area of approximately 34 acres within the City of Blythe south of Hobsonway, north of Interstate 10, west of Lovekin Boulevard and east of Defrain Blvd. The property does not have a Postal address at this time, and is located in a portion of the northeast ¼ of the southwest ¼ of Section 31, Township 6 South, Range 23 East, San Bernardino Meridian (USGS Blythe 7.5 minute Quadrangle); and at Latitude 33° 36’ 31” N, Longitude 114° 36’ 59” W (approximate geographic center of the site).
The proposed Project includes development of an indoor cannabis cultivation and processing facility, consisting of twelve buildings and associated infrastructure (retention, driveways, parking, landscaping, a primary gated access point, two emergency access points, and perimeter fencing). The applicant is requesting approval of a Site Plan as the entitlement. The Project also proposes approximately 1,200 linear feet of 8-inch PVC sewer pipes to be placed underground along Hobsonway to connect to existing City sewer infrastructure.
