  4. Final EIR and Notice of Public Hearing- Edelweiss Sustainable Farms Project

    July 29, 2022 - August 10, 2022
    @

The City of Blythe, in its capacity as Lead Agency for this project under CEQA,  has prepared an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed Edelweiss Sustainable Farms Project ("Project").

Project Description: The Project site encompasses an area of approximately 34 acres within the City of Blythe south of Hobsonway, north of Interstate 10, west of Lovekin Boulevard and east of Defrain Blvd. The property does not have a Postal address at this time, and is located in a portion of the northeast ¼ of the southwest ¼ of Section 31, Township 6 South, Range 23 East, San Bernardino Meridian (USGS Blythe 7.5 minute Quadrangle); and at Latitude 33° 36’ 31” N, Longitude 114° 36’ 59” W (approximate geographic center of the site).

The proposed Project includes development of an indoor cannabis cultivation and processing facility, consisting of twelve buildings and associated infrastructure (retention, driveways, parking, landscaping, a primary gated access point, two emergency access points, and perimeter fencing). The applicant is requesting approval of a Site Plan as the entitlement. The Project also proposes approximately 1,200 linear feet of 8-inch PVC sewer pipes to be placed underground along Hobsonway to connect to existing City sewer infrastructure.

A Public Hearing for this item is scheduled for the City Council on August 9, 2022, beginning at 6:00pm, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 235 N. Broadway, Blythe. An opportunity will be given at said hearing for all interested persons to be heard. Written comments may be submitted to the City Clerk until 4:00 pm on August 9, 2022.

If any group challenges the action in court, issues raised may be limited to only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence at, or prior to the City Council hearing.
